Will it actually hold a full accident, or will it leak through to my floor?

It holds everything in. The waterproof base traps moisture so it never reaches your floor, your crate, or your furniture. The top layer stays dry to the touch even when the pad is fully saturated underneath.

Will it still smell after washing?

Not if you wash it correctly. Machine wash with white vinegar, add it to the softener dispenser and pour some directly over the pad. The odor comes out completely. Do not use fabric softener as it reduces absorbency over time.

How many times can I actually wash this before it falls apart?

It's built for long-term repeated use. Wash on a regular cycle, tumble dry low — it comes out looking new every time with no shrinkage, no damage, and no degraded absorbency. This is not a pad you replace. It's one you keep.

Will my dog try to chew or shred it like disposable pads?

Unlikely. The quilted fabric top doesn't have the crinkle texture that makes disposables so attractive to chewers. Reviewers with large destructive breeds reported no chewing issues at all.
